My Friend's Light Box by admin
My friend suffers from rather serious Seasonal Affective Disorder which means that he gets rather depressed in the winter time. Living in Scotland does not help matters as the winter time is felt so much more than in London, where he is originally from. Before he journeyed back to Edinburgh this October, I decided to gift him with a Light Box. Light boxes are known to alleviate Seasonal Affective Disorder. One must stare into the light box for a few spells of fifteen minutes a day and it releases the vital serotonin which is usually released by exposure to sunlight.

I know for sure that it has helped him massively. Usually when he returns from Edinburgh in the winter he is really depressed and looks physically drawn. This time, when he returned in December, he returned with a smile on his face. It would be much too far to say he had a sun tan, but the happiness he exuded was reminiscent of someone who had recently returned from a spell in the sun. I am unsure whether or not the light box employs gu10 led light bulbs but either way, it is extremely effective.
